🚨 As Jewish Students Testify at Boulder School Board Meeting, Anti-Israel Activists Condemn ADL

The Anti-Defamation League became a central focus of the Aug. 11 Boulder Valley School District board meeting, which was initially prompted by concerns over the district’s handling of documented antisemitic incidents at Southern Hills Middle School.

Superintendent Rob Anderson apologized to the affected students and families, acknowledged BVSD’s response was insufficient, and said the district would pursue system-wide changes.

The meeting highlighted a sharp divide over how the district should address antisemitism — and the role of the ADL in doing so.

To the dismay and disappointment of many in the local Jewish and pro-Israel community, the Colorado Democrats who represent the state in the US House of Representatives voted to block some $3 billion in funding to Israel.

The lawmakers said their vote reflected opposition to the policies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government, not Israel's right to exist or defend itself.

The vote has also sparked questions about the future of bipartisan support for Israel and the growing political divide over U.S.-Israel relations.
