I've been live painting at shows again, at quite a few people have mentioned that I should have a gimmick for my music so that I can grow the music side of my project, all while standing in front of the art I paint. Sorry, but no, do not need or want to do a gimmick. I couldn't be more opposed to that idea. I want to make it with my art and music not a stupid fu**in mask.

It's crazy how one of the biggest names in Dubstep history, Skream, is, and has been, a house artist most of his career.

when you get a preset pack, how many is the perfect number of presets? how many is too many in a pack? don't say, there isn't a limit, cuz there is, there is a perfect number where you can remember all the presets and recall them when you want to use them. packs with hundreds of presets are hard to use, right?

Okay it's time to start planning an art show for 2026. I have a series I am working on that I am determined to finish by my birthday april 23rd. I think planning a may or june 2026 show is the move. Please let me know if it's something you would want to be a part of. I have 12-20 pieces for the show. which isn't quite enough for a solo show. So if you are a sick painter and want to get a body of work together to show with me, let's go!

Chroma 1.2 is out. They basically just added a gate, threshold and morph, but it really made it more usable. Color bass fans- go get it.

DROPLITZ: Artist Statement & Story

About My Work: My work is experiential and is made up of three components: music, meditation and paintings, creating a pool of auditory and visual influences. I use art and music, as a means to examine the transparency, synesthesia, and liminality between sight and sound, mind and body, in addition to consciousness and perception. Using meditation as a vehicle, the content of my work is driven by the sacred and universal interpretation of music. Guided by spiritual and esoteric themes I explore relationships of art and music and how they activate metaphysical aspects of our being. About Me: My name is John Plehinger, or Droplitz. I have always been interested in art and music. I started making art as soon as I could hold a pencil and I began drumming as a young child. In 4th grade I began selling my drawings at the post office and grocery store to make money for my own art and music supplies. When reading music, I would look away from the sheet music and begin to see the notes flying through the air towards me. My artwork reflected this seemingly natural ability to visualize audio. Ideas sprang from my mind like sound from a drum; I couldn’t seem to draw them fast enough. Most of my art in high school was trying to draw my interpretation of music, of sound in general. Over the years my art and music became one-in-the-same. The process of creating became fluid.... droplets (Droplitz) from the same pool of inspiration.
