My creations are the 'droplitz' from the same pool of inspiration. My main focuses are large scale murals, electronic bass music production, dj/performance, logo and branding design, sound design, painting, live painting and anything creative I get hired to do.

I started producing music and painting murals in 2010, began playing shows and went into mural business for real around 2015. Here we are in 2025, I've played probably 100 shows and painted 55 murals and I do not have a single music gig or mural lined up for this year. Hell, I have spent over 20 grand in gear and tools over there years. While I wield all these resources, skill, and experience without anything on the schedule, I wish I could understand how I have gotten to this point and understand why it's like this. All I know is that I love making and performing my weird sounds, I love painting murals for families and companies. I love this work, but it has become a struggle. I want to know where you are coming from, how many years have you sunken into this career as a artist or producer, and what your bookings look like this year?

I am curious to know how you interpret the meaning of this piece!

I am very excited how this piece came out, this image is from the city's documentation of it, no filter shows how these colors stand out in this environment. Out of my seven proposed concepts they chose the trippiest one haha. I love that.

DROPLITZ: Artist Statement & Story

About My Work: My work is experiential and is made up of three components: music, meditation and paintings, creating a pool of auditory and visual influences. I use art and music, as a means to examine the transparency, synesthesia, and liminality between sight and sound, mind and body, in addition to consciousness and perception. Using meditation as a vehicle, the content of my work is driven by the sacred and universal interpretation of music. Guided by spiritual and esoteric themes I explore relationships of art and music and how they activate metaphysical aspects of our being. About Me: My name is John Plehinger, or Droplitz. I have always been interested in art and music. I started making art as soon as I could hold a pencil and I began drumming as a young child. In 4th grade I began selling my drawings at the post office and grocery store to make money for my own art and music supplies. When reading music, I would look away from the sheet music and begin to see the notes flying through the air towards me. My artwork reflected this seemingly natural ability to visualize audio. Ideas sprang from my mind like sound from a drum; I couldn’t seem to draw them fast enough. Most of my art in high school was trying to draw my interpretation of music, of sound in general. Over the years my art and music became one-in-the-same. The process of creating became fluid.... droplets (Droplitz) from the same pool of inspiration.
