Hopefully I can get all these variations up by this weekend, and then I’ll post a more full length update video on my YouTube. I have been asked a bunch for these brackets, and while I know many asked for DXF files, this method seems like the best. Going through SendCutSend marketplace will take all shipping and handling off my plate, but also keeps people from selling my products (again) and eliminates any potential mix ups with bend angles and such. I do have to make accessory mounts too and am open to suggestions/wants. Anyways, that’s the update on the Bed Rack. This is what my nights have been consisted of.

Making some progress this weekend on the Bed Rack design so I can get this out to the website. It won’t be DXF files, but you’ll be able to order the brackets from SendCutSend.com directly through their marketplace, along with a full installation manual of hardware needed. Still finalizing some details. I’ll be doing a 2 post version along with the 3.

Just a man trying to work out of a barn 😂. Here’s an update on the Bed Rack. Originally I was going to do this through SendCutSend, but I was stressing with how make it where people could add the files to their site without potential issues with material or bends. Then I was going to do physical sales of brackets to eliminate that worry, but working out of my barn, storage and up front costs added its own worries. But now, SendCutSend launched their marketplace which will make things far easier for everyone. I’ll still offer the files for download, if you choose to go with another option for brackets, but that will be a paid download. Hopefully I can make some progress in the next week or two, and when I do, I’ll be doing an official launch update on my YouTube.

I put a video up on my YouTube, walking through the whole design to product workflow. I used the Einstar Rockit to scan, Fusion to model and finally printed and added to the website. I needed to add a mount for my Scangauge 2 in my Sequoia, but should work for 1st gen Tundras as well.

Working on a little mount for the Scanguage 2 for the site. To be honest, I mostly just needed one for the Sequoia. Decided to film the process from scanning to fusion design to 3D printing. First test print is on the printer right now. I love any chance to use the EINSTAR Rockit. It helps when trying to get models to be flush with curved surfaces accurately.

Autodesk Fusion isn’t happy with my scans tonight apparently. Or at least with I convert the mesh to a surface. I’m testing out different ways to slice a solid body with a curved base. This is for a mount on top of my steering column. In the past, I just skinned it with a form and modified it. But now I’m trying to convert to a surface, but also want to try to 1. Create a few sketches from the mesh section and loft them together, then 2. Convert my mount solid to a med, then slice it and convert back 🤷🏻‍♂️. Testing out different things, but it makes it harder when fusion freezes between every command.
