Denver’s South Platte River Committee will continue its review of several items related to the proposed stadium for the city’s new professional women’s soccer team during its meeting on Wednesday. A set of measures tied to land preparation, funding, and pedestrian access were previously postponed and are returning for further discussion.

One of the key components under review is a potential pedestrian bridge near the light rail station, which would determine how fans safely move to and from the future stadium site. Coordination with RTD and CDOT remains part of the conversation as the city evaluates access, circulation, and project timing.

The committee meeting is open to the public and will take place this Wednesday (12/10) at 1:15 PM in Room 391 at the City & County Building. Members of the public can attend in person or follow along through the city’s meeting portal once the video becomes available.

If advanced out of committee, these items will move to the full Denver City Council for further action.

We’ll continue tracking this process as it progresses.

Great Divide Brewing has opened a new location at 3040 Blake Street in RiNo, taking over the space previously operated by Stem Ciders. This follows the closure of Great Divide’s two former Denver taprooms earlier this year, one of which will eventually be converted into an indoor paddleball facility.

The RiNo location does not include on-site brewing. Production now takes place at the company’s separate Denver facility, while this space serves as a taproom and restaurant with indoor seating and a patio.

Does Sloan Lake need more high-rise buildings?

A long-planned redevelopment at Sloan Lake is now moving into active construction.

Construction is moving forward on two new residential buildings near the southwest edge of the lake. The north building, Aliyah, will rise 16 stories with 294 units, while the south building, Liora, will include 158 income-restricted units at 30, 50, and 60 percent AMI through a partnership with the NHP Foundation.

A parking structure is already underway, and foundation work for both buildings will continue as the site prepares for vertical construction.

Could Cherry Creek Become Denver Official “Dining District”?

New renderings show that Hank’s Neighborhood Tavern will join The Henry as the next restaurant coming to 201 Fillmore in Cherry Creek.

The plans show a corner layout with patio space and a design aimed at creating a neighborhood-focused dining spot. Hank’s is part of the larger ground floor buildout taking shape at 201 Fillmore, which will bring new food and beverage options to this block as construction moves forward.

We’ll share more details as additional filings and updates become available.

We spoke with the artist about how the project came together, what early-career muralists should know about permits and scaling work, and how she balances client projects with her personal practice.
