LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODING will peak today as an intense heavy rain threat expands across New Mexico and into the TX/OK Panhandles!

The ongoing heavy rainfall event over New Mexico reaches its maximum intensity today. Afternoon heating will ignite intense, slow-moving thunderstorms capable of dumping localized totals exceeding 5 inches. This has prompted an expanded Moderate Risk into central and eastern New Mexico, as well as the western Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles, where dangerous flash flooding is expected, especially across urban corridors and sensitive burn scars.

RADAR IS INDICATING 60 MPH WIND GUSTS & QUARTER SIZE HAIL OVER SECURITY MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH
FOR YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF A BUILDING!

The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a
Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... West central El Paso County in east central Colorado...

Until 600 PM MDT.

At 530 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Security, or near Colorado Springs, moving northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include... Colorado Springs, Fountain, Stratmoor, Fort Carson, Security, Security-Widefield, Cimarron Hills, and Peterson Space Force Base.
