As this year is beginning to come to a close, I am reflecting on some of the amazing projects I was so fortunate to work on! One project I was ask to collaborate with was the “I love you, Get Screened” campaign for ACS. I was able to reconnect with on this project, someone who I had worked with in the past and really enjoyed our on set and off set relationship! We had two weeks in Philly, a short run to Oxnard, CA and then onto Lexington KY! Little did I know she was going to introduce to some of the most amazing people! First off, on the best Art Directors I have ever worked with, . Without adding his eye and humor to these shoots I do not think they would be as solid as they have been. Make sure to check out his work if you get a chance. Also if you need the latest Swifty gossip, he is your source (Well him and Avery have a very extensive knowledge of the world!)

I was also introduced to Megan and Taryn who were such a joy to have around and showed such empathy and care for this subject matter. Taryn ended up discovering a new skill that she didn’t even know she possessed. She was such a great interviewer and knew exactly how to approach this delicate subject matter. Megan was such a ball of joy and such a steady voice on and off the set! Also let’s not forget Trisha who I was only able to work with on one of these locations, but she had such a clear picture in her head of what she wanted and how to achieve it. Also I will not forget Tyler cracking her up the entire time, I think I only saw her for 2 minutes without a smile on her face!

As important as is it to capture amazing imagery for our clients, we cannot look past the importance of these relationships. Set life can be very exhausting and stressful, but I am so fortunate to work with people like this who make it so much more exciting and fun to capture these stories!

Running sets by yourself can be really tough if you don’t have the right producer. I have been fortunate in my career to learn a lot of skills and pretty much handle all talking head interviews by myself with sometimes limited resources. But I have really only been able to do this because I work with really buttoned up clients and producers. Celebrate your victories however small they may seem.

I had a really quick pickup shoot today. After going through a bunch of security and chatting with court clerks we were initially being kicked out of the courthouse. But we stayed positive and then all the sudden security came back and apologized and didn’t realize we had clearance ahead of time! So it all worked out in the end. The moral of the story is to stay positive and put off good vibes and you will see it in return. AC .fermin

Sometimes all you need is simple lighting, a good interview and some frosted glass:) I love having frosted glass behind the talent, it shows a sense of hustle and bustle at their location and it makes for a more dynamic interview. director:
