Inside Energy

Inside Energy Bringing energy reporting down to Earth. Here are some things we’ve heard people say about energy reporting: It’s boring. It’s complicated.

It’s polarized and politicized. It doesn’t matter to me. Well, we don’t think energy reporting has to be that way. In fact, we think energy is the most important topic of our time--so it's imperative that information about energy is accessible and engaging. We are a collaborative journalism initiative that strives to do just that. We use data-driven journalism and investigative reporting to produ

ce accurate, approachable stories that deepen understanding of the ways energy is part of every aspect of your daily life. To bring you the most relevant stories, we've traveled to places as far away as Denmark, but we're based primarily in three western states—Colorado, North Dakota and Wyoming. All three have significant resources in both the fossil fuel and the renewable energy industries. Our reporting reflects that diversity. We are a non-profit news team, funded entirely by a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Our partners represent an array of award-winning public broadcasting entities, including:

- Rocky Mountain PBS and KUVO Public Radio
- Wyoming Public Media
- Wyoming PBS
- Prairie Public – Radio & Television in North Dakota

Our daily food choices are often made out of a desire for convenience, but convenience doesn’t always equal energy efficiency.
