The secret is OUT! We ELOPED in San Diego, California 🥂💌
On April 14, 2026, we had no idea that it would become our forever wedding anniversary, but honestly, 4.14 has a nice ring to it 🤭
Since Drew and I got engaged back in January, we've gone back and forth about weddings and how to do it the right way. We joked about eloping from the get go... but we both wanted it to be somewhere special.
So when our van life trip took a turn due to weather (crazy that we were supposed to be in Utah), we decided to head to San Diego for a few days to enjoy the beach, the food and visit my friend Melissa - my random freshman-year roomie turned best friend (and now on our marriage certificate as our witness forever) 🥲
Drew had never been to San Diego, and honestly, l've never seen him so excited about a city. We jokingly checked marriage requirements in the state of California but figured there was no way we'd get a last minute appointment, but then Tuesday morning, when Melissa brought us to her favorite donut shop in her Carlsbad hometown, there was ONE marriage appointment available at San Marcos County Clerk Office that afternoon at 330pm.
The day took a wild turn and I can't thank Melissa enough for being our "groomsmaid," chauffeur, flower gir, hype woman, photographer/ videographer and witness all in one, her mom's Encinitas Coast Highway Flower shop for the most beautiful bouquet, and a last minute dress that I found at Bliss101 in Encinitas- thank you for steaming it ladies! 👰♀️
We were married at 3:30pm, and after not eating all day due to obvious nerves, we went to In-N-Out to celebrate and ended at a Padres v. Mariners game. Coincidentally, Mariners happen to be my home team, but I might've switched sides for the occasion ⚾️
It was the most California elopement possible...and just like that, they were husband and wife! 💍❣️💐
