🏛️ In a 6-3 Supreme Court decision made Friday morning the court ruled that judicial orders made to go against an executive order will be limited. This will allow the Trump administration to implement their Birthright Citizenship order allowing it to take partial effect in 30 days. The constitutionality of the order has not yet been addressed by the Supreme Court. But this will allow the Trump administration to move forward while blocking judges that try to apply a nationwide injunction. Justice Amy Coney Barret wrote the majority opinion with no mention of whether the Birthright Citizenship order goes against the 14th Amendment. Justices Sonia Sotomayer, Justice Elena Kegan and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wrote a dissenting opinion expressing the dangers of allowing the executive branch to enforce policies that may potentially be unconstitutional.
