🎶 On This Day in Music History, July 25th, 1959-
At just 13 years old, Dolly Parton stepped onto the stage of the Grand Ole Opry for the very first time. Introduced by Johnny Cash, she sang George Jones’ “You Gotta Be My Baby”- and brought the house down. The audience was so moved by her performance, she received three encores that night.
It was a star-making moment for the young girl from East Tennessee and a powerful early glimpse of the legendary career to come. Even at 13, Dolly’s talent, charm, and unmistakable voice were already lighting up the stage.
