In somewhat related news, the Mile High Jedi is getting a change in altitude. Somewhere around 11 feet above mean sea level instead of 5,280 feet.

I will be excited to bring some lightsaber training to the Tampa Bqy area as I move for some work quality of life, getting me a schedule and more days off per month.

So I just got back to the hot and smoky skies of Colorado after spending the weekend in the Finger Lake area of New York earning my Method Trainer certification in Form 1 of LudoSport. It was a very fun and informative session.

Coincidentally, LudoSport is offering a sale on their online version of Form 1 for the next week for only $20.

Why does this matter? Because I am looking forward to beginning training in the very near future, but since I am a new instructor I want to start with a practice group for the online students and practice and refine my technique before teaching on my own. I will be offering this for free to the online students, and will even have a few extra sabers for those who don’t have one to practice with.

Pretty soon I will be posting days that I am available to hold these sessions. My schedule is very dynamic so I can’t say there will be any regular frequency, but it certain days and times work for you and you are interested let me know in the comments.

Mundus ipse est ingens deorum omnium templum. -Seneca

‘The world itself is a huge temple of all the gods’ for all of those like me that don’t speak Latin.

This quote was in The Daily Stoic email this morning and it resonated with me today. This quote from the philosopher Seneca is in reference to the stoic concept of sympatheia, you are probably more likely to recognize it as interdependence in Buddhism.

All of the universe is the Force, or Tao, or God, whatever you wish to call it. This goes for our solar system, our planet, our continent, our city, and each and every person here, who has been here, or has the potential to come into existence.

All of the universe is sacred and should be treated as a temple. When we denote that only certain places, or certain times, or certain people are sacred while others are not is a human affliction that doesn’t really exist outside of our ego.

So, now what? Go Skywalking, which is turning the noun Skywalker into a verb. Treat everyone with respect, be of service to someone or something in need, care for yourself and others.

The entire universe is one big family, make it a happy family.

An excerpt from the link below. Whatever you think of the sequel trilogy, this excerpt helps explain why I stepped away from the Jedi mindset a few years ago, long before I was aware of this meeting from the LSG.

The Art of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker includes a transcript from a meeting of the Lucasfilm Story Group in 2014, roughly a year and a half prior to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. "I like the idea that she's going to be our Skywalker," Pablo Hidalgo observed in the meeting, "but she's not a Skywalker. Then, for our purposes, 'the Skywalker' is really a metaphor. It doesn't have to be something that's directly connected to blood."

This reinterprets what it means to be a Skywalker. To be a Skywalker is to be an agent of balance, standing against the rise of the dark side. It has fascinating implications for the Star Wars mythology as a whole, because it suggests to be a "Skywalker" is to serve an essential function in terms of the Force. The Prime Jedi was an ancient of balance, and so was Qui-Gon Jinn. The recently published Secrets of the Force doubles down on this, suggesting Qui-Gon should be seen as a "Skywalker" by function if not by blood.

Just a quick update on the local training group if you purchased the LudoSport Evolve online training for form 1:

Things are taking forever but we hopefully can begin in 2-3 weeks. Still some details being worked out but If all goes well we should all be pleased and pleasantly surprised by the end result.

I will post the details as soon as everything is finalized.
