Englewood, The Gothic Theatre, 3263 S Broadway. Photos taken in 1940-2025.
The Gothic Theatre opened in 1925, as a movie theater, later becoming a concert venue. It was the first location in Denver to show talkies. The theater quickly became a popular entertainment destination among local society. The Gothic's distinguished art decor and architecture, including rounded walls and recessed inlets, are still present today, providing a historical backdrop to modern entertainment. In the 1940s, the Gothic experienced a change of ownership. As a result, the exterior was changed to conform to modern times. As time passed the Gothic had many different owners, each struggling to gain success with the theater, with the movie house eventually shuttered.
when renovated in 1998 the historic interior was kept as the venue was rebuilt from top to bottom and fitted to become a premier part of Colorado music. On June 23, 1999, when the very appropriate legends of New Orleans, The Rebirth Brass Band, took the stage, the glorious Gothic Theatre was back in the business of making memories. Since then the Gothic Theatre has hosted many distinguished shows. Local bands as well as nationally recognized bands continue to showcase their talent at the venue.

The Gothic Theatre is operated by AEG Presents. AEG Presents, the live-entertainment division of Los Angeles-based AEG, is dedicated to all aspects of live contemporary music performance, touring for a variety of programming, and multi-media presentations.

A Colorado man, Bill Dehner, is recovering after breaking his legs while saving his fiancée from a car that jumped the curb outside Cornerstone Liquor & Wine in Arvada.

The couple was waiting for a Lyft when a driver attempting to park suddenly accelerated into the storefront. Dehner pushed his fiancée, Letitia Gaillard, out of the way just seconds before the car hit him — a split-second reaction that authorities say likely saved her life.

Taco House on Federal was one of those Denver places I thought would be around forever. It was simple, affordable, and part of growing up here — the kind of spot where families passed traditions down like recipes.

When it closed at the end of 2024, it felt like losing a piece of Old Denver, the kind we don’t get back. Thankfully, the Lakewood location is still keeping that familiar comfort and nostalgia alive.

Broncos Country, WE DID IT AGAIN. 🔥 The Broncos just beat the Raiders and improved to 11–2 — not bad for a team everyone counted out early in the season. The defense showed up, the offense handled business, and Denver is officially rolling. Let’s ride this momentum all the way! 🐎💨

Meet Unknown, the Raiders superfan who takes face paint way more seriously than his actual job. When he’s not at Foot Locker pretending to help customers, he’s busy expanding his ever-growing LaBubu collection — because nothing says intimidation like limited-edition pastel toys. His favorite music artist? Latino rapper Cilantro, obviously… because of course it is. If you spot black-and-white stripes at a game, don’t worry — it’s just Unknown living his best (and most confusing) life.

Also included a picture of him and his family in their lovely family portrait.

It’s Broncos Raiders gameday and Brandon Lloyd is breaking down the keys to the matchup. What needs to change. Where Denver can attack. And how this rivalry still hits different.

Denver has poured time, money, and serious effort into making downtown feel safer and more inviting for all of us. New lighting, cleaner streets, more patrols, more events — the city clearly wants people to enjoy being downtown again.

Do you notice a difference?
Do you feel more safe downtown or is it still the same vibe to you?

The historic Downtown Denver YMCA will close at the end of the year as the building transitions fully into affordable housing under the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. For decades, the YMCA occupied the lower floors while CCH operated supportive housing above, but the organizations agreed the property is now better used to help address Denver’s severe housing shortage.

With only 26 affordable units available per 100 low-income households statewide and Denver ranked among the nation’s priciest rental markets, CCH plans major renovations beginning in 2027 while preserving the building’s historic character. YMCA members will shift to other metro locations, and staff will be offered roles at nearby branches as the downtown facility ends operations on December 30.
