With Commissioner Abe Laydon’s term coming to an end, three Parker residents are running to fill his seat and to represent District 1. While Irene Bonham is running uncontested as the Democratic candidate, voters will decide between Republican candidates John Diak and Jake Bockenfeld.

Douglas County residents will soon receive ballots for the June 30 primary election in which they will choose who they would like to run for county commissioner this fall.

The Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club of Parker will be hosting its third Paint and E-Waste Recycling event at Legend High School.

The one-day event will give households a safe and convenient way to declutter, contribute to a greener environment and help fundraise for the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Foundation, local nonprofit organizations and programs.
