🚨 Let's normalize something...
A LOT of successful entrepreneurs started with jacked-up credit. 😅
Late payments.
Collections.
Maxed-out cards.
Financial mistakes.
Life happened.
The goal isn't to pretend it never happened.
The goal is to stop letting it happen AGAIN. 👏🏽
If I woke up tomorrow with bad credit, here's exactly where I'd start:
✅ Pull all 3 credit reports
Not your Credit Karma feelings.
Not your cousin's opinion.
Your actual reports. 😭
You need to know what's REALLY being reported.
✅ Dispute inaccurate information
Wrong is wrong.
If it's inaccurate, outdated, duplicated, or can't be verified, challenge it legally.
✅ Lower your utilization
This is where so many people leave points on the table.
That credit card isn't a trophy.
Use it. Don't abuse it. 💅🏽
✅ Stop missing payments
A late payment is like posting a bad review about yourself to lenders every month.
Auto-pay is your friend.
✅ Negotiate collections when possible
Sometimes a conversation can save you hundreds or even thousands.
Ask questions. Explore options.
✅ Stop applying for everything with a pulse
Every "pre-approved" offer is not your soulmate.
Slow down, sis. 😭
✅ Become an authorized user
The RIGHT account can help.
The WRONG account can drag you down with it.
Choose wisely.
✅ Build positive history
Credit repair isn't magic.
It's consistency.
Over and over.
Until your habits become your results.
And can we please stop attaching shame to a credit score?
Your score is a snapshot.
Not your identity.
Not your intelligence.
Not your worth.
Not your future.
I've seen people come back from the 400s and:
🏡 Buy homes
💰 Secure funding
📈 Start businesses
🚗 Purchase vehicles
🔥 Change their family tree
The comeback is absolutely possible.
Not overnight.
Not by wishing.
But legally.
Strategically.
Consistently.
That's how real wealth gets built. 🐝💛-out cards.
Financial mistakes.
Life happened.
The goal isn't to pretend it never happened.
The goal is to stop letting it happen AGAIN. 👏🏽
