🎧 Tether (Tether):

Tether is a Durham-based DJ and producer whose sound turns emotion into movement, atmosphere, and shared physical space. Her journey began behind the DAW before it ever reached the decks, spending years immersed in production to refine a voice rooted in patience and intention, and after a long period of exploration she began releasing original music as Tether toward the end of 2025. Through production and deep involvement in North Carolina’s underground dance community, DJing emerged as a natural extension of that same passion, resisting easy categorization and thriving in the moments where house, garage, and techno blur into unexpected connections.

One of our focuses with adding new residents is building a laid back and grooving Sunday lineup. With that being said, we are definitely excited to have one of the original founders returning to the airwaves!

🎧 Marco (Marco Castro) :

“Sunday Brunch” premieres August 23rd at 12:00 PM EST (11:00 AM CST)

Marco is a music lover first and a DJ second, whose journey began as one of the founding forces behind DanceGruv Radio. His roots trace back to Miami’s deep, soulful, and Afro-house scene, where he honed his craft playing Winter Music Conference gatherings and venues across Miami Beach, with his Afrocentric session for “Afrobeta Bodega” capturing the global, groove-led sound that defined his early sets.

After stepping back from the decks to focus on family and career, Marco has returned to the station he helped build, now behind the mix for “Sunday Brunch”. A weekly blend of disco, funk, classic house, and whatever else feels right. No strict genre rules, no trends to chase, just warm records, good energy, and music worth sharing.

Big things are in the works. From backend upgrades to fresh new residents, DanceGruv is evolving! Stay tuned.

The summer has been moving steadily and we have a lot of new things happening behind the scenes here. From website updates to in-person events, and new members!

We would like to welcome, EMELCiE to the roster and make sure to catch her new show, Frisson premiering in 2 weeks!

🎧 EMELCiE (EMELCiE) :

“Frisson” premieres August 26th at 7 PM EST (6 PM CST)

Playing both vinyl and digital formats, EMELCiE’s dynamic sound is layered with jazz, funk, Latin, and Afro influences, and she gravitates towards groovy basslines, subtle textures, and intricate, percussion-forward rhythms.

She is the co-founder and resident of RITUAL, an event series in Raleigh, NC, and a resident with Somatic House Collective and Rabbit Whole Productions, helping cultivate and contribute to North Carolina‘s underground electronic music community. From one dancefloor to the next, she is building a reputation for sets that move rooms and shape moments.
