MISSING ENDANGERED ALERT – DURHAM, NC

Durham Police are searching for 25-year-old Toyi Tondere, who was last seen around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of E. Pilot Street. He is a Black male, 5'3", 130 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. His direction and method of travel are unknown.

A Missing Endangered Alert has been activated. This alert is used to help locate individuals with cognitive impairments who may be vulnerable to harm or exploitation.

What an incredible evening in Greensboro on Saturday celebrating legacy, leadership, and the unshakable power of collective action.

I had the honor of attending the International Civil Rights Center & Museum’s 65th Anniversary Gala, marking the successful conclusion of the historic Greensboro sit-ins. ✊🏽

This year’s theme, “Sit-Ins to Stand-Outs,” reminds us that the courage of those who sat down at a lunch counter in 1960 is the same courage we must carry forward today — to stand out, speak up, and ensure that America keeps its promises.

It was a joy to reconnect with The Hon. Henry “Mickey” Michaux Jr., a true civil rights icon and personal inspiration. I was equally honored to meet and engage with Keisha Lance Bottoms — former Atlanta Mayor and White House advisor to President Biden — whose continued work is shaping the future of justice and equity in this country.

Congratulations to the six honorees recognized for their outstanding contributions to civil and human rights. Your work lights the path for generations to come.
