Today, we are excited to announce that Hugh Chatham Health has officially joined Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist’s family of hospitals, outpatient centers and providers. As part of the agreement, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist has committed to investing $100 million in Hugh Chatham Health and an additional $30 million to establish the Yadkin Valley Wellness Foundation. Together, our two organizations will provide enhanced resources and expertise to provide world-class health care delivered by the providers our patients know and trust. This is Jennifer Chatham, General Manager at WIFM. It is with great sadness that I share the passing of long-time station owner, Mr. Gary York. Mr. York was an integral part of the fabric of the communities that reach far and wide across the Yadkin Valley leaving a lasting impression on so many. Mr. York truly lived those words daily.

Outreach through WIFM quickly became a part of Mr. York’s ministry. Whether an interview on People Doing Good for Others, an article in The Communicator or his many photographs, he loved to bring people together and highlight folks doing great things in our communities.

We will remember with a smile, the many stories told, that infectious laugh, but most of all, Mr. York’s servants’ heart and benevolent spirit that taught us all, so many life lessons.

On behalf of the York Family and staff of WIFM we appreciate your prayers in the days to come.
