Following a shutdown 13 days ago, The Brookings Register was back in print today, under new ownership. The same is true this week for newspapers in Huron, Redfield and Flandreau. Champion Media, a community-focused newspaper company based in North Carolina, has purchased and restarted the four South Dakota newspapers. The company's leaders -- father-and-son team CEO Scott Champion and CFO Corey Champion -- are in South Dakota this week, meeting with newspaper staff members and community members.
