Snowmass Balloon Festival is back September 25 through 27, 2026. Free, 51st year, 30-plus balloons.

If you only plan for the morning launches, you will miss Friday Night Glow. The balloons are tethered and lit against the Rockies, and it feels completely different from sunrise.

A few things to know before you go:

1. Location is Snowmass Town Park in Snowmass Village, Colorado.
2. Free parking at the Town Park Station Lot, or take RFTA and the village shuttle if you would rather not drive.
3. Morning launches run about 7:30 to 9:00 Saturday and Sunday. Dress in layers. Mountain mornings look warm in photos and feel much colder in person.

At this point, we might as well list the airport as our second home. Because the way we've been gallivanting these past few months…😅

Despite flight delays, canceled flights (with last-minute hotel bookings in random destinations), missed connecting flights, jetlag, heatwaves…

Summer has been “summering” in the best possible way!

Bandelier National Monument had us climbing wooden ladders into dwellings carved right into the rock 🪜

Ancestral Puebloans carved these cave dwellings into the cliff over 500 years ago, and you can actually climb up into a few of them.

Quick tips before you go:
🥾 Main Loop Trail is about 1.2 miles and mostly paved, easy for most fitness levels.
🪜 The ladders look intimidating but they're sturdy.
🧴 Pack water, there's no shade anywhere on this trail.

New Mexico doesn't get enough credit for spots like this.
