Girls varsity table tennis sets its sights on a strong finish to the season

The girls varsity table tennis team currently has a standing of 5-3 in Queens Division II. On Thursday, the team lost 5-0 against Francis Lewis High School, one of its toughest competitors. Video: Nightingale Theatre Company hosts holiday-themed performance during Season’s Readings

On December 23, THHS hosted it's fourth annual Season's Readings. Normal lessons were put on hold that day in order to spend time promoting the importance of literacy and reading. During the day, the Nightingale Theatre Company also hosted a performance in the auditorium including holiday-themed readings, musical performances, a magic show, and stop motion films. The AP Physics 1/Regents Hybrid program is double-band elective that is the equivalent to a one-semester, algebra-based, college-level physics course. Nafiza Tarannam joined the Townsend Harris High School Guidance Department at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. 1. With declining civic literary rates in the US, opinion editor Anya Basnayake argues that formal civics education should be given more emphasis, and should be a requirement to graduate.
2. Students in Advanced Modern Band performed live rock sets in the cafeteria during all lunch bands on Monday, December 22. The band program also sold “holiday grams,” sending members of Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble to deliver live musical messages throughout the day.

On December 15, Assistant Principal of Organization Ellen Fee emailed the school community about “a troubling and hurtful act” directed towards students in the Jewish Festival of Nations (FON) group. A follow-up email sent to parents asking for clarification explained that a Jewish FON poster displayed in the main stairwell was torn down on December 10.
