On August 28, Townsend Harris High School hosted its annual freshman orientation, officially welcoming in the Class of 2029 to the THHS community. Last month, the Nightingale Theatre company welcomed students from all grades, including incoming freshmen, back to Townsend Harris for a brief taste of the school’s theatrical opportunities. This year’s summer retreat was organized by new English teacher William Lacker, STEM teacher and S!NG advisor Michael Quach, and English/Instructional Support Services teacher Kevin Schwab. Since he joined track freshman year, rising senior David Kolaczko has been a valuable member of the boys track team. Some members of the incoming class of 2029 spent time at Townsend Harris gaining experience in various extracurricular programs. In recent years, the admissions process for THHS has seen some significant changes, and this year’s freshmen shared some of their thoughts about the experience.
