At a virtual High School Journalism conference hosted by Baruch College this week, The Classic was named the “Best NYC high school online newspaper” and received top awards in other categories. Congratulations to Samantha Alzate, Isabelle Guillaume, Amanda Renzi, and Ifeoluwa Adedokun, whose writing received top recognition. We want to thank the entire staff, including recent graduates and current members, for all the work they have contributed.

A number of other New York City public high schools have have similar "bridge year" programs, these include the High School of American Studies at Lehman College, Queens High School for the Sciences at York College, and Bard High School Early College.
