We're excited to announce our Employee of the Year for 2025, Don Gatlin! ⭐️

He began his career at Riviera's Wastewater Treatment Plant in February 2022. In three short years, he has earned every ADEM certification available to him, and yet he continues to find opportunities to learn, listen, and grow.

"Don never backs away from any task, whether tackling major projects like tank shutdowns and repairing actuators, or handling the simplest chores like picking up trash and cleaning the plant. His willingness to lend a helping hand to any employee with their daily responsibilities is truly inspiring," said his supervisor, Chris Clark.

We're so proud to have Don on our team and grateful for the dedication, work ethic, and excellence he brings to Riviera Utilities every single day. Please join us in congratulating Don on this well-deserved recognition! 🎉

Foley is moving ahead with plans for a new fire station to serve the growing northeast side of the city. City leaders say the project will improve response times and give firefighters better access to major roads in that area.

The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo will offer special admission discounts throughout January and February to welcome the new year. The Gulf Shores nonprofit zoo announced two promotions to make visits more affordable for families and seniors.

🏠 Warming Shelter Now Open in Baldwin County
Due to the cold temperatures tonight, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (506 N. Pine St, Foley, AL 36535) has opened its doors as a warming shelter.

🕒 Open: Now through 8:00 AM (December 30th)
🍲 Hot meals are being served to those in need from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Please help spread the word to anyone who may need a warm place to stay tonight.

Thank you to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and community partners for providing this important resource.
