As the holiday season draws near, Downtown Foley is excited to announce its upcoming Third Thursday event on November 20th, from 5-7 PM. This is the perfect opportunity for the community to kick off their holiday shopping, enjoy the early festive glow of downtown lights, and discover truly unique gifts not found anywhere else.

"Our November Third Thursday is designed to make your holiday preparations enjoyable and stress-free," says Darrelyn Dunmore, Executive Director. A new gateway to Foley’s downtown arts alley will greet visitors on North Alston Street under plans approved by the City Council.

The council approved a professional services contract for WAS Design. Under the contract, the company will design a new entrance to Cat Alley from North Alston Street as part of the second phase of the project to improve the downtown walkway.

The Foley Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened on South Juniper Street early Sunday morning. Officers were sent to the 1100 block after a report of gunfire. When they arrived, they found one victim with a gunshot wound.
