𝟭 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱, 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝘂𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗔𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 | One person was killed and a police officer has been hurt during a police-involved shooting at an apartment complex in the Shirrells neighborhood of .

The gunfire broke out Friday night at around 11:40 p.m. at the New Zion Manor apartment complex in the 2000 block of Jubilee Court.

An injured San Bernardino police officer was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, and a civilian, whose identity or involvement in the incident remains unclear, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators were still on the scene Saturday morning as the probe into the deadly shooting continued.

𝟭𝟱𝟬 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗨𝗖𝗥 | Approximately 150 people have been displaced after a massive fire at an apartment complex near the University of California, (UCR) on Friday morning.

Firefighters from the Riverside City Department responded to the multi-alarm blaze at the University Riverside Garden Apartments located in the 3900 block of Iowa Avenue at around 11:15 a.m.

According to the fire department, 50 apartment units were entirely destroyed, while 62 units were preserved. Crews are anticipated to continue working through the night and into Saturday to extinguish any remaining hotspots.

Although the complex is situated just a block from UCR, it is not owned or managed by the university, though many students are said to live there. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

According to the American Automobile Association, the typical cost of gasoline in California reached $6.14 per gallon on Thursday, which is approximately $1.58 above the national average.

The blaze, dubbed the , started around 11:30 a.m. near Bain Street and Limonite Avenue in the Mira Loma neighborhood of Jurupa Valley. The fire has burned at least 900 acres as of 6 p.m. with 0% containment. Over 100 personnel are assigned to the fire, as well as numerous aircraft.

An evacuation center has been established at the La Sierra Senior Center, located at 5215 La Sierra Avenue in .

𝗠𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 | Another vacant commercial structure has been destroyed by flames in the troubled downtown area of — tragically, the latest blaze has resulted in the discovery of a victim inside.

San Bernardino County firefighters responded to 560 North D Street at 6:34 a.m. Sunday to discover flames engulfing a single-story boarded-up commercial building, located just a block away from the police headquarters.

Firefighters quickly managed to extinguish the fire, and upon entering the structure, they conducted a primary search, during which they discovered a deceased adult male inside.

The San Bernardino County Fire Office of the Fire Marshal is currently investigating the cause of the fire, and the identity of the deceased man will be disclosed by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.

While it's unclear what the man was doing inside the building, a shopping basket could be seen on the property just outside of the building, suggesting that the victim may have taken shelter inside.

Initial damage estimates are around $1 million, and no injuries to firefighters were reported during the 30-minute firefight. Anyone with additional information about the fire is urged to contact the Fire Investigation Unit at 909-387-5723.
