This is a question worth sitting with.

When I don’t get what I want from God, do I trust Him or do I pout?

Do I justify my actions to get what I want, or do I humble myself and say, “Lord, You know what’s best for me. I trust You.”

Humility shows up in moments like these.
Where we stop demanding and start surrendering.
Where we let God be God.

God tells us exactly what He is looking for.

Isaiah 66:2 says He looks for the one who is humble, contrite in spirit, and who trembles at His word.

In Scripture, we can clearly see the contrast between a heart that has no regard for God’s word and a heart that turns, believes, humbles itself, and becomes contrite. And when that shift happens, God reveals something about His character that we can hold onto when we need Him most.

Humility still moves the heart of God.

“When pride comes, then comes disgrace. But with the humble is wisdom.”

Humility is not about thinking less of yourself. It is about recognizing who is truly in authority and choosing to serve with the right heart.

Jesus said the world would know we are His disciples by our love for one another. That kind of love shows up in servitude. In choosing to outdo one another in service. In laying pride down and walking in wisdom.

Humility is not weakness.

Barrenness does not always look the same.

It can show up in relationships, finances, work, or longing that has gone unanswered. Sometimes you are doing everything you know to do and still feel stuck.

This moment is a reminder that there are seasons where faith is formed before the miracle ever comes. Sometimes faith only becomes visible when it is required.
