Florida State just took the crown for partying in America. 🍻

Florida State University has been ranked the #1 party school in the country in Niche’s newly released 2027 college rankings, moving up from the #2 spot in its previous ranking.

The ranking compared more than 1,500 colleges and factors in student reviews and nightlife statistics. FSU also received an A+ for its party scene, with Tulane University coming in at #2 nationally.

— A 24-year-old Florida man was arrested after deputies say he was found naked in a private swimming pool in the Florida Keys and later bit a deputy at the hospital 🤦‍♂️

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Tuesday after the man was found trespassing in the pool. After being taken into custody, he was transported to a local hospital, where authorities say he bit a deputy. He now faces charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, trespassing and criminal mischief.

A Florida woman who fatally sh*t a 62-year-old man during a confrontation over a parking spot at a North Lauderdale Walmart will not face charges after prosecutors determined Florida’s Stand Your Ground law applies

The June 30 confrontation was captured on multiple videos. Prosecutors said the man returned toward the woman after an earlier dispute, while witnesses described him as angry and said she repeatedly warned him not to approach her or her vehicle. She ultimately fired one sh*t, striking him in the abdomen. He later died at the hospital.

The Broward State Attorney’s Office said it could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that her fear of imminent death or great bodily harm was unreasonable. His family has publicly disagreed with the decision not to file charges.

Vice City Airport coming soon? 👀✈️

Miami-Dade County wants a part of the Grand Theft Auto VI hype. According to news sources, the county proposed a partnership with Rockstar Games to temporarily rebrand Miami International Airport as “Vice City Airport” plus Vice City-branded manhole covers scattered around the county. A county spokesperson said Miami-Dade’s “clear influence on the game” creates a chance to generate revenue while showing the region off to a massive audience.

Tiger Woods’ driver’s license has been suspended for five years following a plea agreement from his March rollover crash case in Florida 🪪

Woods appeared in a Martin County courtroom Wednesday and agreed to a reduced reckless driving charge after initially facing a DUI charge. He was also cited for careless driving, with the five-year suspensions on the charges running concurrently. The judge told Woods there would be no exceptions to the suspension and warned that driving during that period could send him back to jail.

The case stems from a March 27 crash near Woods’ Jupiter Island home. Authorities said his SUV clipped a truck and rolled onto its side. No one was injured. A breath test showed no alcohol in his system, but authorities said Woods refused a urine test.

Toys “R” Us kids officially have a reason to visit Sawgrass Mills again. 🦒

The iconic toy retailer is back in South Florida with a new standalone store inside Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, bringing Geoffrey the Giraffe and the familiar Toys “R” Us branding back to the mall.

The new location is smaller than the massive Toys “R” Us stores many Floridians grew up with, but it carries toys, collectibles, plushies and popular characters as the brand continues its brick-and-mortar comeback across the country.

A two-year investigation just uncovered an alleged $5.8 million scheme involving condo and HOA money in Miami-Dade. 💰

Six people were arrested as part of “Operation Sundown,” an investigation by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office into what authorities describe as an organized fraud operation targeting five condominium and homeowners associations.

Investigators allege the group used property-management companies and affiliated vendors to gain control over association finances, submitting fraudulent invoices and diverting money intended for things like roof repairs, landscaping and other community expenses. Authorities say many of the board members were elderly, primarily Spanish-speaking volunteers who did not realize what was allegedly happening.

The Sheriff’s Office says investigators have identified more than $5.8 million in alleged losses so far, and the investigation remains ongoing.
