For half of a century, Kim Dine has dedicated his life to police work. Following graduation from police academy, he joined the Metropolitan Police Dept. (MPDC) in Washington, D.C., where he rose to the rank of assistant chief. In 2002 Dine accepted the role of Frederick’s chief of police at a time when great distrust existed for authorities in minority neighborhoods. Dine recalls those years and the important advances the department made over time.
