Every month, we like to highlight one of our members here at Coeur d’Alene Muzzleloaders—the folks who make this club what it is. For the month of March, we’re featuring Alan Williams!
How It All Started:
“Like a lot of folks my age, my love for muzzleloaders started with the Daniel Boone TV show starring Fess Parker. Watching that show as a kid lit a spark in me, and I’ve been hooked ever since!”
Favorite Gun:
“That’s a tough one! My favorite rifle and pistol combo? Whichever two are shooting well at the same time I’m shooting well! Nothing beats a good day on the range when everything’s clicking.”
Best Advice for New Shooters:
“Forget everything you think you know about shooting! Muzzleloading is a whole different ballgame.”
Funniest Mishap:
“My best range mishap? Well… I shot my hat! I hung it on a steel post as part of a course of fire, and my round ball struck the post and ricocheted, turning my hat into a fine example of frontier lacework. Luckily, an American Mountain Man stitched it back together, and honestly, it looks really nice now!”
Thanks, Alan, for being a part of our club and sharing your story!
