ULTIMIX 342: Ready...Set...WEEKEND:

1.) 2.) Tears (Pt. 1) - Sabrina Carpenter 113
The hitmaking machine that is SB, tees up the second release from her new full-length "Man's Best Friend" set. Mark worked from the original version and also did a "No Wet" pass for the pearl clutchers. Now, let's goooo!

3.) Tears (Pt. 2) (ULTI-reMIX) - Sabrina Carpenter 125
DeToto turned up the energy a few notches for a quick dose of dance pop fun. His exclusive full production has open format jocks written all over it!

4.) The Dead Dance - Lady Gaga 123
Brian removed the original drums (but kept the original drum fills) and replaced them with new ones. This gives the mix a little more punch. Then he added a syncopated drum section in a few spots for added spice. All the original instruments remain intact. The intro and outro elements include filtered and chopped vocal EFX.

5.) Soda Pop - Saja Boys, Andrew Choi, Neckwave...126
The K-Pop fantasy film "KPop Demon Hunters" continues to churn out well-produced tracks that dominate international streaming metrics. Again, staying true to the original, Mark kept things light and fizzy!

6.) Crush (ULTI-reMIX) - Zara Larsson 128
Swedish singer Larsson is enjoying her spotlight on dates alongside Tate McRae's North American run. Beat Thrillerz craft another solid full production that checks a multitude of boxes.

7.) Fast (ULTI-reMIX) - Demi Lovato 126
Huda went to the lab and put his trademark breaks stamp on Lovato's latest. He pulled the vocal stems from the original, chopped up new bits for the intro and outro, and even turned a vocal snippet into a synth line riding in the background. Finish with hypnotic 303s and chest-rattling basslines, and you've got a late night treat. Enjoy the ride!

8.) Walking On a Dream (BLOND:ISH mix) - Empire of the Sun 127 Stacy wanted to tackle this one awhile back for Back Spins (the original came out in '08!) But then, this hot new BLOND:ISH mix dropped! He modified the middle breakdown/build-up with breakbeats done Volume style. Filtered stems, a new bass and a 303 build, set this one off like a late summer beach bonfire.

9.) Bottle Rockets (ULTI-reMIX) - Scotty McCreery f. Hootie & the Blowfish 82
Speaking of that late summer bonfire, here's a country/pop crossover ditty that fits nicely into a variety of sets. It's the first Top 10 country hit for Darius and pals. The song doesn't just sample "Hold My Hand", it features brand new vocals from H+Bf. Very cleverly done. Another Ultimix secret weapon that sits nicely alongside Shaboozey, Bailey Zimmerman, etc.

10.) Hell At Night - BigXthaPlug & Ella Langley 75
More hip-country hybrid fare that fills many formats on the way back up to higher bpm sets.

11.) How It's Done - HUNTR/X, EJAE, Audrey Nuna, REI AMI 80
Sing along K-Pop from "KPop Demon Hunters".

12.) Don't Stop the Music (throwBK - ULTI-reMIX) - Rihanna 126
DJ Volume took a very playable (and very played) signature song from RiRi's catalog and made it his own. He refreshed some of the dated production styles of the original and beamed it at warp speed into 2025! He saved the Makossa chant until the end for maximum payoff.

THIS WEEKEND! Close Out the Summer of '25 with a BANG! Hey Jeff, What's On the New Funkymix 319?!

1. It Depends (Clean & Dirty) (ULTI-reMIX) - Chris Brown f. Bryson Tiller 136: The latest CB collab with R&B/Trap star Tiller was originally a downtempo, bump-n-grind take on "Nice & Slow" by Usher. Beat Thrillerz did a full production uptempo bass mix with new original synths and 808 bass.

2. YUKON - Justin Bieber 96: The previous single and first release from "SWAG" is still climbing the charts. While "Daisies" is still hot, Bieber wasted no time and dropped "YUKON". Doc Roc did a solid beef'd up production of the original and added some energy with"hype" drops.

3. Jealous Type (Clean & Dirty) - Doja Cat 120: The lead-off single from Doja's upcoming "Vie" full length continues to straddle the line between pop and rhythmic-crossover. Mega producer Jack Antonoff (Taylor Swift) co-wrote and produced. Mark didn't stray too far from the original, but just gave some added oomph.

4. Which One (Clean & Dirty) - Drake & Central Cee 120: "Billboard's" newly-crowned Artist of the 21st Century continues to push the envelope, while dabbling with different genres and production styles. DeToto edited "Which One" with new beats and added intro hype.

5. Gabriella - KATSEYE 73: Quick to follow up the success of "Gnarly", girl group KATSEYE return with their latest. It was offered to Anitta and Rita Ora, who both recorded versions prior to this release. Mark kept the original vibe going and primed it for peak-hour rhythmic mixshow attention.

6. Ring Ring Ring (Clean & Dirty) - Tyler, The Creator 130: Huda grabbed the 'pella and bassline from the original. Then he tucked the original melody stem way back in the mix, so it fits nicely in the background. He also layered in a fresh piano to carry the groove. And completely rebuilt the entire drum kit from scratch. Finally, a little extra 808 sub-low to keep the floor shakin'!

7. Ghost (Clean & Dirty) - Armani White f. Samara Cyn 104: Stacy played off the sampled Fabolous/Pharrell "Young'n" elements by adding some Fab vox for the hype.

8. Wassup (Clean & Dirty) - Ciara & Busta Rhymes 130: Rich plugged in his trademark bass style on CiCi's new track with Busta on the backup. He added more of the AoN "Moments In Love" sample and added new synth parts.

9. twinzzz (Clean & Dirty) - Saweetie 109: Stacy sampled more of the Black Box beat and made lil' vocal chops.

10. Everybody Everybody (throwBK - ULTI-reMIX) - Black Box vs. Saweetie 109: Since he spent time crafting the instrumental parts for his above "twinzzz", he put them to good use and came up with a nice throwback mash. He had all the original BB stems and time compressed them to fit nicely in the pocket. To recap...He used samples of the samples of the samples.

THIS WEEKEND! Back Spins 46 Is Here! Load it, play it, feel it!

1. Crazy Train (ULTI-reMIX) - Ozzy Osbourne 136: Heavy guitars. Hard Hitting 808s. DJ Volume. Enough said.

2. Sad Songs (Say So Much) (ULTI-reMIX) - Elton John 107.5: Mark transformed EJ's 80s hit into a mid tempo throwback primed for retro mix shows.

3. Tongue Tied (ULTI-reMIX) - GROUPLOVE 113: This 00s alt/electropop track gets re-worked and now sports a more four-on-the-floor feel.

4. Boogie Oogie Oogie (ULTI-reMIX) - A Taste of Honey 124: Huda brought current production sensibilities to this beloved disco track from the summer of '78. He replayed the keys and emulated the original. He added some new licks as well. But that signature bassline is intact and still slaps.

5. Get The Party Started (ULTI-reMIX) - Pink 129: Richie Rich brought his funky breaks 'A' game & made things a tad darker with replayed synth pads in the drops.

6. Love Will Find a Way - Pablo Cruise 120: All the original instruments and vocals were preserved in their purest form. The tempo fluctuations have been corrected and this thing hits hard at a consistent 120 bpm throughout. Brian lit his creative spark when it came to the replacement of the drums. He kept the original style and vibe of the song, but chose a classic 70s drum kit to keep the familiarity. Sail away on board this yacht rock mainstay.

7. Candy Rain - Soul For Real 94: This 90s R&B gem fits nicely in a rhythmic throwback playlist. Jay beefed up the beat and thickened up the bass. Solid.

8. Dream Weaver (ULTI-reMIX) - Gary Wright 82: DeToto started with the vocal acappella and fully reproduced this timeless classic that's often cited as another yacht rock staple. He preserved the original bassline while adding special effects, offbeat synths & plucks for a dreamy vibe. Finally, he added a supporting beat that girders a crisp, modern production.

9. Swingtown (ULTI-reMIX) - Steve Miller Band 131.5: One of SMB's signature tunes gets a nice modern beat that gallops along nicely at 131. Mark also cleverly used some of SMB's "Jungle Love" in the fills.
