Flooding, burst pipes, leaking roofs, and flooded basements can cause serious damage to personal belongings—including irreplaceable family videotapes.

If your videotapes have gotten wet, here is the most important thing to remember:

Don’t panic—but please act quickly.

Home Video Studio specializes in restoring water-damaged and mold-damaged videotapes. For nearly 35 years, we have helped families rescue tapes they feared were lost forever.

You may not be able to reclaim everything damaged by a flood or water leak, but there is a very good chance we can help save the memories recorded on your videotapes.

If your tapes have gotten wet:

1. Carefully dry the outside of each cassette with paper towels.

2. Remove the tapes from any wet cases, cardboard sleeves, boxes, or containers.

3. Do not open the cassettes.

4. Do not place the tapes into a VCR or camcorder.

5. Do not attempt to dry, clean, rewind, or repair them yourself.

6. Call Home Video Studio immediately.

Timing is very important. The longer moisture remains inside a tape, the greater the possibility of mold and additional damage.

Our professionals can carefully dry, clean, restore, and transfer your tapes to DVA—Digital Video Archive—so you can watch your rescued memories on your smartphone, tablet, computer, or Smart TV.

We cannot promise that every damaged tape can be saved, but Home Video Studio has repaired and restored thousands of tapes over the years. We have encountered water, mold, smoke, broken tape, damaged shells—and even videotapes accidentally baked in an oven!

We have seen just about everything, and we are very good at what we do.
