In the early days of Atomic Pictures, we once had the Homewood Police storm the building. Why. you ask. A local promoter had a goth rock band that wanted a music video. To help get the creative juices flowing, he had the band come to the office in full stage makeup. Think KISS but more of an edge. Someone drove by, saw these guys outside having a cigarette and apparently thought we were being attacked by rock musicians.

I had a great time at TransWorld in St. Louis last week, where I was invited to present two sessions on using AI in advertising for seasonal attractions. TransWorld is the top trade show for the haunted house and Christmas attraction industries, so being asked to speak was a real honor.

I’ve been creating advertising and media content for Atrox Factory since the very first year of Atomic Pictures in 1999, so I’ve had a front-row seat to how this industry keeps evolving.

AI is opening up some exciting new creative possibilities, and it was a lot of fun sharing ideas with people who are passionate about building memorable guest experiences.

Spending a day with Robert Duvall at his ranch was a highlight of my career. He was gracious, engaging and modest about his accomplishments. He told us to make ourselves at home and insisted we call him Bobby.

One day my daughter said, “Dad, I finally figured you out—you never grew up.” She’s absolutely right, and honestly, I have no plans to start anytime soon. I think that mindset is what keeps my perspective fresh on every project. Whether it’s shooting, editing, or motion design, I genuinely love what I do.
