Today is Day. His legacy and teachings are timeless. His words are so very relevant.

There is a growing darkness in the galaxy. The dark forces of the empire seek to separate us, silence us, and even remove us. They threaten to police us and physically harm us. Did any of us think we'd be living out episodes that mirror the series?

We must stand strong against hate and fasc¡st empires. We must speak out against injustice. We must stop the brutality and violence from stormtroopers because no one is safe. History knows this.

Poe Dameron said, "The First Order wins by making us think we're alone. We're not alone. Good people will fight if we lead them. " Good people are resisting (for weeks now!) in Minnesota. Before that, it was Chicago, New Orleans, Portland, Los Angeles. What will look like in your city, your community, and on your street?

My belief in equality, diversity, inclusion, human rights, women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and equal rights will never be broken by the empire (or a P*TUS, by a political party, or any billionaires). Even as evil and darkness rises, light will rise to meet it, just as it does throughout the galaxy in StarWars. Light is rising to meet it every day, with every citizen warning whistle, every protest, every lawsuit filed, and every video recording shared.

Jyn Erso said, "Rebellions are built on Hope." Even on my angriest days, i have to have hope we will get through these next three years. LIght has to drive out darkness.
