Host Chris Aaland travels North of the Border during the first hour of tonight's Tales Of The New West to help Canadian singer/songwriter Fred Eaglesmith celebrate his 68th birthday. Starting at 7 p.m. with the opening of the KSUT Vault for a vintage live set from William Prince (recorded at the 2022 Four Corners Folk Festival), we'll hear plenty of Fred Eaglesmith, plus fellow Canucks Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, k.d. lang, and others. During the second hour's Americana Jukebox, Chris will spin new music from Caitlin Cannon, Missy Raines & Allegheny, Poi Rogers, and more. Tune in to KSUT from 7-9 tonight and each Wednesday for Tales of the New West. Check out our KSUT Session with the Durango band High Country Hustle.

They dropped by the KSUT studios recently to talk with Chris Aaland and play a few tunes.

You can also catch them playing live at today’s Durango Fourth of July Street Dance, presented by KSUT.

The party begins at 5 p.m. today in the Durango Transit Center parking lot. High Country Hustle plays at 5:15, and the Afrobeatniks follow at 7:30.

We'll hear from Greg's daughter Pieta, his wife Iris DeMent, plus others like Bridget Kearney of Lake Street Dive and William Elliott Whitmore. Chris opens The KSUT Vault for some live recordings from The Afrobeatniks, one of the bands playing our free 4th of July Street Dance in the Durango Transit Center Parking Lot.
