Slow transitions from board to ski mode or vice versa are a perpetual source of disdain from our two planked brethren. Most splitboarders know the anxious

Goggle Coverage, Sunglass Freedom: The POC Devour Glacial Review

Ditch the sweaty goggles on the skin track. 🏔️ We tested the POC Devour Glacial sunglasses from the top of Mt. Glory to the fjords of Norway. With adjustable temples and heavy-duty side shields, these might be the ultimate one-quiver eyewear for backcountry skiers. Read the full review by Andie Cornish

Over the past few years, I have found myself spending more time in the backcountry than the resort, which means I have been trading my usual helmet and

Is this the only snowboard you need for 2026? 🏂

We just got off the mountain testing the brand new Never Summer Nokhu. We rode it in variable conditions at Grand Targhee—ice, crud, and hardpack—and it handled it all with ease.

If you are looking for a "Quiver of One" that floats in powder but still rips high-speed carves on groomers, you need to see this.
Highlights:

✅ Unmatched Edge Hold (Triple Camber Tech)
✅ Surfy, playful feel (5/10 Flex)
✅ Hand-built in the USA 🇺🇸

🚀 You know we don't mess around when it comes to ski tests, especially in our backyard: Jackson Hole Mountain Resort! We just put the Bomber Ascent 95P through its paces, and wow, these skis deliver serious race-level feedback

If you're an aggressive skier who craves stability at speed and a ski that holds its own when you drive hard into a turn, this might be your new favorite ride. Not for the casual cruise, but for those who attack the mountain!

Calling all mountain enthusiasts! 🏔️ Have you ever judged a book by its cover... or a jacket by its first try-on? Our gear tester, Scott Sheer, definitely did with the Jones Snowboards Re-Up Down Recycled Hoodie!

When he first got this hoodie, he wasn't convinced. Tight spots, a bit noisy... it almost went back on the shelf! But sometimes, gear just needs a little breaking in, and this one proved it big time.

After some real-world use – from epic missions deep in the backcountry to casual nights out – the Re-Up Down Hoodie totally won him over! Packed with 750-fill recycled down, a helmet-compatible hood, and a versatile design that looks as good as it performs, it's become his absolute winter staple. Plus, we're loving this season's Sierra Brown colorway!

Read Scott's full, honest review on Mountain Weekly News to find out why this hoodie is now a must-have for winter adventures and everyday wear. You might be surprised! 👇

Mountain Weekly News (MWN) was kicked out of Backcountry.com's affiliate program, allegedly for sharing commission percentages. MWN claims they were actually trying to help Backcountry by pointing out product listing errors. They accuse Backcountry of a "fraudulent chuckle" scheme where their data feed shows products as in-stock when they are not, luring customers to their site for clicks and data collection even when no purchase is possible. MWN is calling on Backcountry to apologize, reinstate them, renegotiate commissions, and fix their inaccurate data feed, threatening further public exposure if they don't comply.
