POV: One day you wake up as the little girl who used to play “kitchen kitchen”… and suddenly you’re living 8,000 miles away, calling your mom to learn how to clean a fish. 🥹❤️
Today started with a slow morning and a fishing trip with Luke. After what felt like a hundred casts, we finally caught two trout! 🐟
But when we got home, reality hit…
I had never cleaned a fish before.
So I picked up my phone and called the one person who has always had the answers—my mom in India. 🇮🇳📞 From thousands of miles away, she patiently walked me through every step while I nervously tried my best.
And in that moment, I realized…
Growing up doesn’t happen all at once. It happens in the quiet moments when you have no choice but to figure life out. The little girl who once cooked imaginary meals with toy pots is now catching, cleaning, and cooking dinner in a country she never imagined she’d call home.
No matter how far we go, a mother’s guidance always finds its way to us. ❤️
If this touched your heart, send it to someone who misses home. And if you’ve ever had to call your parents just to ask, “How do I do this?”… you’re not alone. 🫶
