Very proud to have been nominated for 3 awards at the 2026 Awards. The Kimberley is nominated for Best Documentary or Factual Series, Best Direction in Nonfiction Television and Best Cinematography in a Documentary.

Congratulations also to the editing team, whose outstanding craft has been recognised with a nomination for Best Editing at the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers Buzzies Awards, along with who is nominated for Best Host/Presenter in a Science/History or Wildlife Program (up against the legend himself David Attenborough). Cross your fingers for us - winners will be announced in Rio De Janeiro later this week.

Honoured to have our series The Kimberley shortlisted in the Walkley Awards, and in such outstanding company. Congratulations to producers Nick Robinson, Mark Coles Smith, Electra Manikakis, Peta Ayers, and the incredibly talented team who poured almost two years into this production.

We could not have told this story without the generosity of the Traditional Owners who shared with us their knowledge and love of this special place.

We’re thrilled to share that our series ‘The Kimberley’ is a finalist in the 2025 Jackson Wild Awards, nominated for best writing! From the first ideas to the final script, every word was crafted with care. Being acknowledged on the world stage among the best in nature storytelling is a true honour. It’s time…after three years, thousands of kilometres crisscrossing some of the most remote landscape in the country, and countless hours in the edit suite, our three part series THE KIMBERLEY premieres on ABC iview and ABC TV tomorrow night.

Making this series was a true privilege, and we’re grateful to the many people in the Kimberley who allowed us to film on their Country and those who went out of their way to help us put this series together.

The Kimberley is a special place, and we hope we have done it justice.

Wild Pacific Media is so proud to be nominated for a Panda Award at Wildscreen for our series, ‘Australia’s Wild Odyssey’ (ABCTV/Arte France) - one of the highest accolades in natural history! To be included in such esteemed company is a huge honour.

The series follows the flow of water across the Australian continent, to uncover the incredible connections that link all creatures on earth, from ants to eagles to us. It’s an epic adventure across Australia’s unique landscapes, and a love letter to the only planet we know that sustains life.

Go For Gold! We’ve got 2 nominations for best cinematography in a documentary at the AACTA awards tomorrow night! ‘Australia’s Wild Odyssey’ and ‘Shackleton: The Greatest Story Of Survival’ are fighting it out with stiff competition. Fingers crossed and congrats to both teams!

Doco lovers, next week our film Ocean Odyssey featuring “her deepness” Sylvia Earle will be screened at the CDRC23 documentary conference at the State Library in Sydney. It will be shown along side a whole host of other awesome films and panels with documentary filmmakers. It comes at a crucial time in our industry, as the craft itself in now under threat with new proposed streaming quotas that exclude documentary films from the quota system. Please share your love for the craft, grab tickets, and get along - there’s something for everyone! Check out the schedule on the web site below. 'Australia's Ocean Odyssey' and Jen Peedom’s gorgeous 'Mountain' are showing Thursday afternoon/evening along with a panel discussion about the value and effectiveness of documentary films in the movement to help preserve our incredible planet. We love to fly drones, but sometimes the landscape is just too big and the only way to get the shot is with a helicopter. We use a GSS cinema gimbal mounted on the front with an 8K RED camera and Angenieux 25-250 or Canon 50-1000 lens. The results are hard to beat and it’s a hell of a lot of fun to use. Get in touch if you need aerials for your next film or commercial and come for a ride!
