I love making memories with my family, friends, and even myself.

At the end of it, I don't want to accumulate things, I want to know that I lived a life with no regrets.

How about you?

Dream big, my friend! You were made for more!

Sixteen (16) men and women from different walks of life united to create this collaboration. They openly share how they are rising above depression, anxiety, addiction, sexual abuse, and other traumas.

Through their powerful stories, they want their readers to know: There is hope. You are not alone; we are all in this together.

Help is available.

You can thrive in spite of what you've been through in your past.

When we don't talk about what troubles us, we increase stigma. When we don't talk about mental health, we reinforce the message that "we can't talk about it” - and that couldn't be further from the truth! When we don't talk about mental illness, we increase the shame that people feel - shame caused by stigma.

When people feel ashamed of their challenges, they don't seek help. When people don't seek help, bad things happen to them and to the people who love and support them. It's time to break the stigma, one story at a time!

In our homes, let's talk about it. In our schools, let's talk about it. In our civic clubs, let's talk about it. In our congregations, let's talk about it. In every community, let's talk about it.

As parents, individuals, and family members of people on the autism spectrum, we all share common themes that include unconditional love, determination, and unity. This book was created to inspire parents and individuals with personal experiences from the people who have loved ones on the spectrum. The stories shared in this book speak about the challenges that families face on a day-to-day basis and also their remarkable accomplishments. Autism can have a profound impact on the individuals diagnosed and on the people who love them.

Often, stories of autistic people and their loved ones are overlooked. Therefore, this book was created to highlight some of the authors’ experiences. As you read each chapter, you will learn how autism has brought all of us together as a community. You will hear from caregivers and from young women with autism themselves. Each perspective is unique and brings us together as one big family. Corazones Unidos Para el Autismo invites you to embrace this book alone or with a loved one. Remember, we are all more alike than we are different!
