In 2010, Lower Merion School District faced a federal lawsuit regarding the surveillance of students via school-issued laptop webcams. Blake Robbins sued after a vice principal used an in-home photo of him eating candy to wrongfully allege possession of illicit items, resulting in a 610k settlement.
