Due to an old water leak causing some mold contamination, the Lancaster County voter registration office has been temporarily moved to the Office of the Circuit Court Clerk, 8265 Mary Ball Road, in the Lancaster Judicial Center until further notice.

One ticket matched all six numbers in the Friday, June 27, Mega Millions drawing. That ticket is now worth an estimated $348 million. The jackpot had been rolling since it was last won in Ohio on April 18.

The ticket was bought at E & C VA, a gas station and convenience store also known as The Burgess Buoy Food Store, 14878 Northumberland Highway, Burgess.

TODAY: The annual Author Expo will be held TODAY from 1-4 p.m. at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

“Everyone is invited to meet nearly 40 local and regional authors,” said library director Alice Cooper. “We are very excited that this year’s keynote speaker is Kalela Williams, director of the Virginia Center for the Book.”

The performance will be a homecoming of sorts for Airman First Class Christopher Hall, a tubist with the band, who got his start as a band student at Northumberland Middle School. He will be among the 60 Air Force musicians performing at the free concert.

Concertgoers are urged to bring chairs and picnics to the concert, presented by the Irvington Village Improvement Association. Sponsor Chesapeake Bank will offer free hot dogs, chips and desserts beginning at 5:30 p.m.
