I’ve never shared my total income before bc tbh I was self-conscious about it and I was scared it might make someone compare themselves since I used to be that person.

But shoutout to Ricky Yao | Ex-corporate → Creator-Entrepreneur , my fellow Chinese creator, after watching his video I realized I might have been looking at it the wrong way this whole time

Growing up Chinese American, there’s so much pressure to choose the “safe” path: get the degree, find the stable full-time job

My goal in creating content has always been to inspire my fellow Asian-Americans out there that there is another path from content creation that CAN bring you money and freedom in life. 

So going forward, I want to start sharing my income with that intention, as proof that if you want a different path for yourself, it’s possible to build one!

Everyone’s timeline is different. This is just mine and I hope sharing it inspires someone out there to keep going 🤍

I include a breakdown first to give you more insight on why I format my pitch like that. I used to work on the brand-side hiring creators, and now I’m also a full time creator, so these are tips I’ve learned from what I would look for hiring creators + also my own lots of trial & error!! This works for both DM and email 😊

Here’s a few of my favorite editing tricks to keep people watching your videos!

✨use short, concise captions that are either 1-2 words or word-for-word so there’s constant movement. Why? People have short attention spans, so videos need a new action every 1–3 secs or they scroll
✨use sfx, animations, & transitions for asmr
✨I use Captions app since their AI edit feature can analyze your video & add them in for you!

Try it out and save so much time editing!
