July 4th, Jubilee keeps visitors busy

While the majority enjoyed the parade, the vendors and the games, a handful focused more on the games. Independence Day festivities actually began Thursday evening with the Glow 5 Run/Walk and continued Friday at Forrest Park with a parade, a softball tournament and a hot dog eating contest.

Two vying for rodeo queen

Two contenders for the Lamesa rodeo queen title are already selling tickets to the July 31- Aug 2 rodeo. Serenity Flores, 12, and Ainsley Crisp, 13, are both contenders for the title.

An article in Friday's issue of the Lamesa Press Reporter stated the Dawson County Library's Summer Reading Club Foam Party is Wednesday. This is incorrect. The Foam Party will be held on Tuesday, July 8.
