Dr. De’Shawn Washington, teacher at Hastings Elementary School, and Jessica Lander, history teacher in Lowell, discussed the state of education and innovative and creative approaches to investing in students’ stories, identities, and voices as part of the Cary Lecture Series.

The pair have both won teaching awards from the state; Lander was recognized as 2023 Massachusetts History Teacher of the Year and Washington was named 2024 Massachusetts Teacher of the Year.

Looking for something to do with your pumpkins once Halloween is over? Bring your pumpkins to Lincoln Park on Friday November 7th at 11am for a pumpkin smash organized by the Town of Lexington, LPS Green Teams, and Lexington Zero Waste Collaborative! All smashed pumpkins will be composted by Black Earth Compost.

Halloween is tomorrow and you know what that means - Trick or Treat in the center! Children are invited to trick or treat at local Lexington businesses from 2pm to 5pm. Look for the orange/black/white balloon bouquets at the door of our participating local businesses.

ABOUT

LexMedia is a membership based, non-profit community access television station serving the town of Lexington, Massachusetts.

We provide local cable coverage on three channels: LPTV (Public Channel), which broadcasts locally produced programming, news, and community events; LETV (Education Channel), broadcasts school events, sports, and educational programs for al lifelong learners of all ages; and LGTV (Government Channel), which covers Board of Selectmen, School Committee, and other town-related meetings. All LexMedia channels can be streamed live via our website. Our channels can be found on Comcast, RCN, Verizon. RCN provides three additional HD channels that mirror the public, education and government channels in High Definition.

LexMedia is dedicated to bringing a voice to our community and providing an outlet for creative expression to the residents of Lexington, Massachusetts. We are committed to creativity, technology, and freedom of speech, and aim to encourage media production by residents of all skill and experience levels. We provide television studio and field equipment for member use, as well as free training from our expert staff to educate, inspire, and support our members.
