We had an amazing Thanksgiving week in Galveston 🌴🦃

And yes… I managed to squeeze in a few games 😏💗

I played at the McGuire-Dent Rec Center — great facility with 3 indoor courts + 6 outdoor courts, fun competition, and it was only a 5-minute walk from the Airbnb. 🙌

But honestly, the best part was the people. Pickleball folks are just built different — welcoming, competitive in the best way, and ready to laugh between points. I met players from all over, and everyone made it feel like I was one of the regulars.

If you’re ever in Galveston with your paddle, go check it out.

They charge $5 per day for non-members, and if you have a military ID (even retiree) you get free membership. 🙌

Already looking forward to the next trip!
