Peter, a young man abduรงted on November 29, 2025, along the Ugwogo NikeโOpiโNsukka Road in Enugu State, has shared a chilling account of his รงaptivity.
In a Facebook post shared by Senator Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, Peter revealโฌd how the att@รงk unfolded near the last police checkpoint at Ugwogo Roundabout. Gunmโฌn opened f!re, caus!ng vehicles to cr@sh. He fled into the bush but was capturโฌd near a nearby building.
๐ด โI heard a loud โheey!โ with a gun pointed at me, and I was ordered to l!e down. At that point, I resigned to f@te,โ Peter recalled.
Held captive for four days, Peter described the g@ng of 11 mโฌn led by a mid-sized leader who spoke fluent English, Pidgin, Fulfulde, and Igbo.
Despite being Fulani, the kidn@ppยฃrs also spoke Igbo, surprising Peter.
The group moved constantly to evade securitยฅ forcโฌs, fed captivโฌs once daily, and forรงโฌd them to carry supplies.
Peter warned motorists to avoid the road during late afternoon and evening, noting that 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. is relatively safer.
He urged families of v!รงtims to stay calm during r@nsom talks and thanked God and supporters following his release.
This harrowing account highlights ongรธing security รงhallenges on Enugu highways.
