Most of the public comments at The Woodlands Township meeting centered on the mounted patrol that has been here more than thirty years. Whether they stay is still an open question.

Ten people signed up for public comment on September 3rd, and most came to defend Alpha and Omega Mounted Patrol, whose contract runs out December 31st. One resident asked the board to go the other way and move the work to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, saying deputies cost less and can actually make arrests.

The board didn't act on any of it, because it wasn't on the agenda for the meeting.

What the board did do was approve a new tax rate of $0.1694, lower than last year. The tax bill on the median home still went up, from $832.48 to $862.81. One director moved to cut the rate further. Nobody seconded her.

Also on the night: a high-level look at next year's budget and where the money goes, which was met with congratulatory remarks from the board.

MoCo TX Commissioner's Court Recap | September 3rd, 2026

Commissioner's Court met Thursday, and two separate arguments came down to the same question: once the court sets another elected official's budget, how much say does it get in how that money gets spent?

The county clerk won his argument. The sheriff and all five constables won theirs as well.

Also worth knowing: the courthouse bond will not be on your November ballot. The filing deadline was August 17 and it came and went.

And the tax rate gets adopted Tuesday, September 8, at 9am. The proposed rate is higher than the no-new-revenue rate; and higher than what the court adopted last year.

Before it was Magnolia, it was Mink's Prairie — and then it moved two miles down the road to catch a railroad.

Most folks driving through 77354 today have no idea the town started somewhere else entirely, tried on another name (Melton), and only became Magnolia because of the trees along Mill Creek.

🚨 BREAKING Montgomery County, Tx — Houston investigator Wayne Dolcefino released a video this morning putting a spotlight on a Montgomery County lawsuit that's been working its way toward trial for more than a year, one filed by Pct. 4 Commissioner Matt Gray himself.

Dolcefino’s video details the relationships between government officials and Dolcefino describes the atmosphere as a “cozy courthouse”.

To provide external verification of these claims, Dock Line has sourced the court records. The court files are public, with the trial set to start in ten days.

—The Court Records—
Case No. 25-07-10523 was filed July 1, 2025 in the 457th District Court. Matt and Amanda Gray are the plaintiffs, suing individually and on behalf of their minor son. Richard and Jessica Sisney are the defendants, sued individually and on behalf of their minor son; and the Sisney child is named as a defendant in his own right.

Court records show the Sisneys countersued on July 28, 2025, and moved that same day to transfer the case out of Montgomery County. GWR Webster LLC, doing business as Great Wolf Lodge, was brought in as a third-party defendant, won summary judgment in March, and was severed out of the case in April.

Judge Vince Santini is presiding. Pre-trial conference is the September 9th, 2026. Jury trial is set for September 14th, 2026.

—The Dolcefino Accusations—
Dolcefino says the underlying incident was a fight between the two boys at the Great Wolf Lodge water park in Webster, and he raises questions about Gray's conduct there and about how the case landed in the 457th.

These “cozy relationships” are all allegations. Specifically, Gray has not publicly responded to them and none of them have been decided in court.

Dolcefino also specifically makes mention of the September 3rd Commissioner's Court of Montgomery County, where Commissioner Gray made a motion to declare October 2026 as National Bullying Prevention Month.
