PART 5: Superman's original costume including the Boots with the holes; the Wrist Bands; his belt; his trunks; and Superman's signature early pose.

It's opening weekend for the super-fun SUPERMAN movie and time for an historical revelation. Joe Shuster said that his depiction of Superman came from photos and drawings in what were known as "muscle magazines" of the 1930's. I decided to spend a few years trying to track down which ones might have influenced aspects of the creation of the character. The following speaks for itself. (I flipped the Supes pic to line up with the mag cover.)
