I am beyond proud of our girls today! The STGC Memorial Classic was filled with some incredible goats and tough competition. It was great hanging out with all our goat friends even though it was a VERY long day. Thank you so much to all of our amazing friends that helped us handle goats.

Our Juniors absolutely killed it and Minnie got another reserve grand champion!

In all 3 rings we had 2 goats in the grand lineup and 2 of the rings we also had two does on deck for when grand was selected.

3-6 month old-
Karen: 2nd place in 2 rings and I believe 4th in ring 3
Karma: placed towards the end of her classes but was only in the age group by 3 days and was not feeling it.

6-9 month old-
Minnie: 1st place in all 3 rings and reserve grand in ring 1

12-18 month old-
Paris: 2nd place in 2 rings and I don’t remember her placing in the 3rd

18-24:
Juliet- 1st place in all 3 rings

Our seniors did well today although they needed some more fill time and did best in the 3rd ring with more milk in their udders. Both placed in the 2nd half of their class for the first two rings. The 3rd ring the girls placed as follows:

Rocky: 6th
Hatch: 5th

This weekend, we are set to attend a goat show, which always requires clipping the goats beforehand. It is not uncommon for a goat's first clipping to reveal a remarkable surprise hidden under their thick fluff. Karma proved to be no exception, she revealed an impressive new coat color and an amazing body conformation.
We can’t wait to see how she does in the ring on Saturday.

These death naps are contagious apparently 😂 Both goats are perfectly fine just dramatic nappers!

We have another incredibly exciting doe to announce. Thank you so much to Lauren at Five Waters Ranch for offering us this gorgeous sassy girl! Getting photos of her were a challenge because she is so friendly!

Meet “Five Waters F Karma is Golden”(Five Waters SS Blanche 2*M VG89.1 x Lil Miss B Haven Fearless CQ *B VEE91)
This girl has so much width already and under her fluff she is incredibly correct. Karma’s Pedigree is stacked with fantastic goats. I can’t wait to watch this girl grow up and get her in the show ring!

On Saturday we made a trip to the Spring Fling show in Mineral Wells. We didn’t bring any goats to show but we did pick up a new girl to join our herd.

This girl caught my eye back in April at Milk and Honey Pot. I am so thankful to Katie Dean at Living Dreams ranch for breeding such a beautiful doe and letting us bring her into our herd. Rocky is sweet as pie and so incredibly dairy. Rocky will be part of our show string and has already earned her AR stars when she was a FF.

Happy Mother’s Day to the Matriarch of our herd Mindy Danforth! She is the glue that holds our ranch together. She makes sure that everything is organized and running smoothly on a daily basis. Texas Trails would not be what it is without her.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our 4 legged mothers as well!!

Do you remember Dobby? He was our 1.6 lb baby buckling born 2 months ago. His mom wouldn’t allow him to nurse off of her so he became a bottle baby. She did look after him and he played and snuggled with his brothers, he just wasn’t allowed to eat (the joys of first time mommas). Well he is now my new best friend and enjoys his bottle and snuggle time. He now weighs almost 15 lbs. and is doing awesome. He was treated to a little photo session tonight. He really just wanted to run back to his herd, but we got a few good shots. 🤣🤭🤩

Dobby is our smallest goat we have had born on the ranch. He was only 1.6 lbs when he was born. He is doing awesome and growing like a little w**d now. He drinks from a bottle 2x a day and is a little love bug. “I don’t need another buck, I don’t need another buck” that’s what I keep telling myself, but he is so stinking adorable. 🥰 ❤️😘🤭
