Our condolences to the family of KOMU Channel 8 sportscaster Ben Arnet, including his work colleagues that include the staff at the University of Missouri School of Journalism:

KOMO Channel 8 sports anchor Ben Arnet has died. The station made the announcement Thursday night. Mr. Arnet not only was Channel 8 sportscaster but also was a teacher at the University of Missouri School of Journamlism.

Ben Arnet was 43.

A Centralia man who caused a late night head-on crash with a semi-truck in Mexico was instantly killed.

Mexico police report the unidentified 34-year-old was eastbound on West Monroe shortly after 10 last night (Tuesday) when he crossed over the center line in the 15-hundred block, hitting a Freightliner driven by a Mexico truck driver hauling soybean meal. The truck driver wasn't hurt.

Mexico police had to re-route traffic until 4 this morning. We'll update the victim's name on Country 96 and 1340 KXEO after family members of the victim are notified.

A Mexico man is in the Montgomery County jail, busted for explosives and m**h.

Richard Lovell's bond to get out of jail is $15,000. A sheriff's deputy made a traffic stop Tuesday because of bad license plates,, and the department says Lovell gave permission for the car to be searched. The deputy found m**h and an explosive device.
