For everyone in the scene, and even far beyond, it's very clear what devastating news has been announced regarding Defqon.1.
We've had to take some time to let it all sink in, before sharing any words. Words that can't possibly carry the immense emotion that is attached to this type of news.
For Q-dance and all their production partners taking care of every single aspect of an immense festival like this, it is an absolutely devastating outcome.
Weeks of hard work on site, months if not years of planning this years concept - all the literal blood, sweat and tears that go into perfecting every little detail of an event this size - all to be taken away by something so intangible such as the weather. In this case, the heat.
Artists who have worked themselves to the bone to prepare for their sets. Some of whom would be making huge jumps in their careers, playing on some of the most important stages and timeslots... dreams shattered.
And then of course you... the visitor. The literal blood that runs through the veins of our scene. Traveling in from all corners of the globe, a good portion of you saving up large sums of money to make such a pilgrimage. Maybe even a once in a lifetime trip that you may not be able to make for many years to come.
Our hearts go out to all of you who have been affected.
Although there are no words to even come near to describing the emotional, financial and even spiritual damage that has been done, just know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
And although frustrations are high, please trust that an organisation such as Q-dance will do everything in their power to soften the blow. However, it is up to all of us to show our consideration and support for this difficult moment in our scenes history.
