🛰️ ThinLine Radio Push Notifications Are Now Faster and More Reliable

We’ve officially upgraded the ThinLine Radio push notification infrastructure to improve speed, reliability, and uptime for all users.

What changed:

• **3 Servers. 3 Regions.**
Our push notification system now runs simultaneously in New Jersey, Dallas, and Los Angeles for faster and more reliable notification delivery.

• **Automatic Failover**
If one notification server goes offline for maintenance, a data center outage, or connectivity issues, the remaining servers immediately take over. Notifications continue without interruption.

• **No More Single Point of Failure**
Alert delivery, scanner registrations, and notification handling are now replicated across all three locations in real time for maximum reliability.

• **Improved Reliability & Performance**
The new infrastructure allows us to perform maintenance and upgrades without interrupting notification delivery.

Why we made the change:

ThinLine Radio has continued to grow rapidly, and while there were no major issues with the previous system, we wanted to stay ahead of the game and eliminate the risk of a single data center outage or connectivity issue affecting notification delivery. This upgrade ensures faster, more dependable alerts as more agencies and listeners come on board.

No action is needed on your end — just keep using ThinLine Radio like normal.

Life has a way of pulling people in different directions after high school. Careers, families, responsibilities… before you know it, years pass and you realize you haven’t talked to someone nearly as much as you should have.

But there are certain people you never forget.

Todd McCormick was one of those friends who could randomly text you in the middle of the afternoon:
“Wanna go bowling?”
“Want to go to the range?”
“Let’s grab some Taco Bell.”

Just simple moments that end up meaning a lot more as time goes on.

Now Todd is fighting something a lot bigger. He’s been battling kidney disease his entire life and is currently in need of a kidney transplant. He recently became a husband and a father, and more than anything, he wants the chance to be there for his wife and daughter for all the years ahead.

I’m sharing this because sometimes helping someone starts with simply making sure their story reaches enough people.

As our company and others running servers on our platform is owned by first responders, we watched someone's business burn to the ground. It's not like we didn't try, this business was gone when dispatch received the call. Two of us drove by it on our way home from work, nothing was going on, no sign of anything 20 minutes prior. 10 minutes prior someone else drove by, still nothing. The call was received approximately 10 minutes later. A man who has worked to build something great over the course of years lost that in 10 minutes. I myself feel some of that pain. If we lost everything we have now, I would be devastated. What you see and use everyday started in 2020, thats 6 years of work. It's not about how much money you make. It's about your customers, your employees and the name you built. Don't let this man struggle, even if you can only donate $1.00. We all struggle with things everyday. No, money won't bring it back, but it will help repave the path for him, his family, employees, and customers who rely on him.

🚨 Thinline Radio — iOS Updates Live + New UI 🚨

With both iOS updates now approved and available, this release also introduces a completely redesigned user interface, along with updated alert behavior.

🎨 New UI + Navigation Changes

We’ve reorganized settings to make things more scalable (and we’ll continue refining this):

⚙️ App Settings is now simply called Settings (bottom-right of the screen)
📟 Scanner Settings have moved

To configure alerts:

Go to Settings
Tap Scanner Management
Select your scanner
Open Alert Preferences
Enable Alerts and Keyword Lists

➡️ Pager-Style Playback settings can be found under:
Settings → Notification Sounds

Alerts trigger as a VoIP-style incoming call
❌ Audio will NOT auto-play
This is a current platform limitation
We are actively exploring possible improvements

✅ Supports auto-playback of alerts
Full pager-style experience is available
⚠️ Important Behavior Notes
📡 If Auto Live Feed on Startup is enabled:
When the app is fully closed, answering an alert call will start the live feed automatically (as intended)
🎧 If you are actively listening to the scanner:
Pager-style playback will NOT trigger
You will still receive a standard push notification

***Update 4/13/26 12:50PM looks like when checking our site again it is no longer flagged, those still experiencing issues please reach out we will assist you.

We’ve recently learned that some customers using AT&T Internet Security and Spectrum Security may have trouble connecting to scanner.ohiorsn.net because it has been incorrectly flagged as a malicious site on certain home Wi-Fi networks.

At this time, we believe this is related to third-party security filtering used by some ISPs. If you are having trouble connecting, you can either temporarily disable that security feature on your network or use our secondary URL by manually adding this scanner in the app:

(https://ohiorsn.thinlineradio.com) "don't type the parentheses

We have already submitted an appeal to Bitdefender, and they advised that false-positive reviews can take up to 72 hours.

We also checked the other scanner servers in the app, both public and private. None of the others were flagged as unsafe except for our main server and https://butlercountyscanner.net. We have submitted all registered servers for review as well.

Here is the response we received from Bitdefender:

“Thank you for your file submission.
The file has been automatically sent to our Malware Lab for specialized analysis. If the file is indeed a false positive, the detection will be removed within the next 72 hours and implemented through a signature update.”

We’ll keep everyone updated as we learn more. Thank you for your patience and support.

🚨 Thinline Radio — Pager Playback Fix Update 🚨

We’ve got great news — the Pager-Style Alert Playback issue has been identified and fixed.

✅ What’s Fixed

After extensive investigation, we tracked down the root cause of the playback issues affecting mobile devices and implemented a full fix.

📱 Android: Update is now live and available
🍎 iOS: Issue has been fully resolved after ~20 hours of debugging
🚀 iOS Update Status

The iOS fix is complete and has been submitted to Apple for expedited review.

We’re pushing to get this approved and into your hands as quickly as possible.
