Our Black News: The Black U.S. soldier who crossed into North Korea

Powered by Restream https://restream.io

No official statement from any of Black America’s thinking and political minds on the Black U.S. soldier who crossed into North Korea on "willfully and without authorization.” In the case of Travis King, slavery was invoked when this private second class, was released from a detention center in South Korea; the threat to him was so grave, he crossed into the Demilitarized Zone and ‘ran’ across the heavily fortified border into North Korea. This is where he is today; not even former president Barack Obama isn’t asking questions publicly. Join us for this and more on “Our Black News; the final episodes…”

Our Black News: Are we Asking the Right Questions?

Powered by Restream https://restream.io

Last week in St. Paul, Minnesota, a 14 year old child shot and killed a 12 year old relative at 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Local politicians were cited as ‘grieving with the families.’ Unfortunately, this is a very sensitive situation; you have two levels happening simultaneously, and a short window of opportunity to get the information out to the public on how this tragedy developed before the actual shooting. Join Our Black News as we analyze several homicides involving Black boys and girls in the Twin Cities. Let’s not ever be distracted by folding chair memes.

Yes...we waited until the smoke cleared; we read and watched multiple local (Twin Cities) news outlets and carefully took stock of words, meanings, and assumptions. I clearly remember: "Because of George Floyd, Black men will not be killed by law enforcement." Three or four times now? Tonight we have "that conversation" - join us. 10 p.m. - Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

Our Black News: Twin Cities leaders ‘befuddled’ by Shootings

Powered by Restream https://restream.io

We have witnessed several killings across the Twin Cities, from children with weapons killing other children to grown men arguing over an ex-girlfriend that erupts into a homicide. With over 2000 days of consistent gunfire in north Minneapolis and the uptick in shootings in St. Paul, it seems like our city leadership has run out of ideas to be proactive. What happens to a community governed by their inferiors? The time is long gone to hire a bunch of folks with solid-colored T-shirts to stand around people in their culture and not offer anything. This and much more on Our Black News.
