SPD Homicide Arrests Update

Per SPD:

“Original:

On June 13, 2026, at approximately 12:30 am, officers responded to the 1900 block of Hickock Court on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male victim and a 16-year-old male victim. The adult male sustained a grazing gunshot wound. The 16-year-old sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Stockton PD Homicide detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation, which remains ongoing.

Arrest Update September 2, 2026:

Detectives continued to work on this case since the homicide occurred. Jaylen Morn, 19, was identified as a suspect in the case. On September 2, 2026, detectives located Morn and took him into custody. He was subsequently booked into the San Joaquin County Jail for homicide.

Arrest Update September 9, 2026:

Detectives have continued to work on this case and identified Marciano Rivera, 20, as a second suspect in the case. Detectives located Rivera and took him into custody. He was subsequently booked into the San Joaquin County Jail for homicide.“

Officer Involved Shooting in Stockton

Per San Joaquin County Sheriff:

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on September 10, 2026, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop near South Tuxedo Avenue and North Pershing Avenue in Stockton. The driver, 27-year-old Julio Llerenas, failed to yield, leading deputies on a vehicle pursuit.

The pursuit continued to the southbound Interstate 5 on-ramp at March Lane, where deputies attempted to stop the vehicle.

During the incident, the suspect vehicle was used in an apparent attempt to assault a deputy, resulting in a deputy-involved shooting.

Llerenas continued to flee and was later apprehended near Melbourne Avenue and Acacia Street. No deputies or suspects were injured, and Llerenas is in custody.

Llerenas was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon other than a fi***rm on a peace officer/firefighter causing or likely to cause great bodily injury (PC 245(c)), felony committed while on felony probation (PC 12022.1(f)), evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety (VC 2800.2(a)), and obstructing/resisting an executive officer (PC 69). His bail was set at $140,000.

There is no ongoing threat to the community.

The California Highway Patrol will be investigating the deputy-involved shooting. This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Traffic Advisory per CHP:

Expect delays in the area due to an overturned big rig trailer. There are no reported injuries at this crash.

🚨UPDATE🚨

As of 8:45 AM, crews are on scene to recover the trailer and clean up the cargo.

Currently, the right lane of westbound SR-219 is closed. Seek alternate routes and expect delays.
